Harvest Roots: A Taste of Byway Agriculture

Join us on Saturday, September 27, for Harvest Roots — a celebration of the rich farming heritage of the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway.

Enjoy free sample bites inspired by foods that shaped life along the Byway, featuring local farms and creameries.

From heirloom produce to farmstead cheeses, every flavor tells a story of resilience, tradition, and community.

Here’s what you’ll experience:

  • Sample Delicious Bites — Taste the bounty of the Byway: Heirloom Apple Slices with Cheddar Cheese, Maple-Roasted Root Vegetables, Honey-Butter Cornbread, and Thumbprint Cookies with Blackberry Jam.

  • Sip & Savor — Aaron Burr Cider will be pouring two unique ciders — Sullivan County and Callicoon Creeks — both crafted from last year’s harvest of wild, uncultivated fruit foraged right here in Sullivan County.

Rock Valley Spirits will be pouring samples of their specialty cocktail, the Forest Fruit Rye Highball — a refreshing blend that highlights their handcrafted rye with notes of wild-foraged fruit.

  • Past & Present Connections — Explore “Then & Now” displays highlighting the Lenape legacy, canal-era farming, and railroad-driven dairy expansion alongside today’s thriving food economy.

  • Community Spirit — Spark conversations with farmers, makers, and neighbors while celebrating the stories that continue to shape our community.

  • Free & Fun for All Ages — Live music, Market shopping, and seasonal flavors for the whole family to enjoy.
